Frequently asked questions

Why do block comments matter for a migration?

Gutenberg stores attributes such as image URLs in the block comment, for example {"url":"http://..."}. A plain search and replace on visible text misses those, which leaves old URLs behind.

Can it upgrade only some hosts to https?

Yes. Turn on the http to https option and keep the old domain field for the host you are moving, or leave the old domain empty to upgrade every http URL.

Does it change URLs inside visible text?

Optionally. The "Also change URLs written in text" option is on by default and can be turned off.

Is this a database search and replace?

No. It works on markup you paste, one piece of content at a time. For a whole database, use a database-level tool.

Is my content sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
